Knots Of Love

Join us to knit or crochet hat for donating. We will use the approved patterns provided and we carry several of the approved yarns to knit these hats.

Knots of Love donates caps to:  Men and women undergoing Chemotherapy, burn victims, brain surgery patients, head trauma patients, and individuals with Alopecia.

What Knots of Love provides and how we make a difference:
Warmth: Caps help keep patients warm in the chilly treatment rooms.
Comfort: Heads become sore after a long day of wearing a wig, and some chemotherapy drugs cause heads to become tender. Caps provide respite and comfort, like a cozy pair of slippers or a soft robe.
Dignity: The loss of hair can be traumatic for patients, resulting in embarrassment and seclusion. Caps provide a fashionable way to cover hair loss and help to restore self-esteem.

Knots of Love Facts

Our goal is to warm the hearts and heads of those experiencing traumatic hair loss while battling cancer and other life threatening illnesses.  We do this by continuously sending care packages of free hand made caps to treatment centers and hospitals around the country. There are passionate volunteers spread throughout the United States who tirelessly knit and crochet only the finest quality of caps.  This act of kindness fills a need which is often overlooked.  Our creations are distributed free of charge – one cap at a time.

Guidelines for Knitters and Knotters

Required Yarn List PDF

To protect the health and well-being of our cap recipients, we have a few guidelines for people making Knots of Love caps:

• Must be new.
• Thinner, seamless, non-lumpy caps are good for sleeping and increased comfort.
• No see-through caps. (Patients don’t like to see their bald heads through the caps.)
• Yarn must be fragrance-free, smoke-free and pet hair-free.
• Must be washable.
• Must be made with yarns from our guidelines/approved yarn list.

We carry the following yarns on the approved list. We will also have a selection of patterns for you to choose from at the shop.
